Meet Katie at Midwest Bank. Katie has worked at Midwest Bank for two years. She’s currently a Retail Specialist at our Midtown Branch in Norfolk. Katie grew up in Norfolk and then attended Northeast Community College and Wayne State College.

Before coming to Midwest Bank, Katie worked as a paraprofessional in Special Education. Now, as a Retail Specialist, Katie gets to work with customers every day and really enjoys it. She helps customers open accounts and with their daily banking needs including deposits, wires, and debit cards.

Katie says the best thing about working at Midwest Bank is her great co-workers. She has a really fun team, and they make coming to work every day enjoyable. Katie also loves how involved Midwest Bank is in the community. Some of her favorite memories here at the bank are when they’re helping out in the community.

We get to know our customers on a personal level. We like to build long-lasting relationships with our customers and we want to give them a great experience.

When asked why someone should choose a community bank, Katie said “Because we get to know our customers on a personal level. We like to build long-lasting relationships with our customers and we want to give them a great experience. We also want to make banking as simple as possible for them.” Katie understands how important it is to get to know her customers and help them in any way she can.

Katie recently got married to her husband Houston in the fall of 2022. They have two dogs and a lot of cows! Katie’s favorite sports team is the Husker Volleyball team. She enjoys puzzles in her spare time, her favorite food is homemade macaroni and cheese, and she loves any movie that’s a comedy. She also shared that her hidden talent is sewing. Katie would love to retire somewhere in the country and her dream vacation is “somewhere warm”!

When asked to describe Midwest Bank in three words, Katie said “Family. Caring. Community.”
